09.10.2002 Firenze, Tenax
We started on 8.10. in Munich. Our bus should be at our practicing room at
12:00, but we had a delay of more then 5 hours. We started with the worst part
of a tour, the "waiting"-part. On a tour you spend most of the time with waiting
for something... . Waiting to get in, waiting for the sound check, waiting to
start playing, waiting to drive to the next location, waiting to get in ......
On the 9.10 at 12:00 a.m. we arrived at the location, but we passed it three
times, because the name of venue is spelled Tenax but written TNX. We had a nice
sightseeing tour in the industrial area of Firenze.
In the venue, we met the tour manager and the guys of blind guardian and the
rest of the crew. We then heard, that the PA arrived with a delay of two and a
half hours and our sound check will be very short. doors open should be at 7:00
p.m., which was exactly the time when blind guardian finished there sound check.
We had only half an hour to bring up our equipment and to check our sound. The
time was far to short, but we thought it could be o.k.
Then the crowd get in and in 5 minutes the venue was filled up with 1300
enthusiastic fans. We could start to play half an hour later than it was
planned.
The Mr. Brilliant of the PA did not had a cd-player ready, so we had to skip our
intro! The fans were really exited and welcomed us very, very friendly. They
were the best fans we had the favor to play in front of. The first songs went
very well, but in the middle of our set the monitor sound was gone ! We could
not ear each other and Django had the worst part. We tried to play "Dragon's
Tear" as good as possible, but it was very difficult. We are sorry for that. We
skipped "the Law" and finished our set with the new song "StormHammer".
We met many of the fans after the show and we have to state that the fans in
Italy are great !
